invitation designer crush: Sara Hanks Giessen

Posted August 16, 2011

Apologies for the absence of last week’s post; there were some technical difficulties, and the entire site was down for 48 hours (including the time I was planning to post!). Thanks for sticking with us here—I have some seriously gorgeous stuff to take a peek at today!

Way back when, I posted on unique directional signage here.
Little did I know that along with this one image, Sara Hanks Giessen and her hubby had created an entire identity for their day that was both one-of-a-kind and amazingly classy and yet whimsical at the same time. The signage above was intended to actually have balloons attached to where her hand is—LOVE that idea. Check out her details below, which include things I’ve been pondering recently (faux bois, preserves as favors, fan programs…):

wrapped in paper with their wedding logo, peach salsa was given as favors. You know I’ve been loving that idea!

fan programs. Love the shape she chose, and the way she laid out all the content!

faux bois. you know I love this stuff, if you’ve read this blog before…

Sara is an interactive designer at Razorfish in Atlanta. I shyly asked her about some of her designs, and she was so sweet to reply and share some details regarding fonts! Check out her site for more gorgeous pictures from her wedding, including the altar design she did for the outdoor event. I also recommend that you look at these when you have some time for more fun stuff she’s done—get inspired! I’ve certainly been:
