TRUE, diehard Clemson fans: propose at their Clemson tailgate amidst all their closest orange and purple clad friends; name their dog after a location on campus, and obviously get married on Clemson’s beautiful, picture perfect campus. Ashley & Wes are such a couple, and their fabulous wedding proved they really knew how to really throw a stylish, Tiger sized celebration!
Allie and Elise from the I Do crew were there for the beginning of the planning, to the day-of action to watch Ashley’s bridal party have a blast getting ready together. There was so much laughter and fun as they enjoyed getting dolled up in their elegant floor-length silver sage dresses, accented in a perfectly understated Tiger touch with a pale orange shawl.
After saying their vows at First Baptist Church in Pendleton, the bridal party and their large crowd of guests moved to the Clemson’s Madren Center for the rest of the evening. Greg Foster outdid himself outfitting the reception space with the couple’s peach, blush and sage palette, complete with orchids, blush tipped white hypericum berries, and succulents for the girls bouquets. The tall, gently curling willow branches in the reception centerpieces really accented the tall, airy ceilings of the covered, outdoor Owen pavilion.
The Tiger nods continued with “the ultimate” Clemson memorabilia book for guests to sign as they entered the reception. Clemson Catering provided several delicious stations of food for guests to sample, including a truly southern biscuit station and late night snacks of self serve sweet potato fries and dipping sauces. Kathy and Company topped off the menu with a decadent six tier cake covered in an elegant cascade of orange and blush ombré roses. Kathy and Company has provided several delicious and lovely cakes for weddings I Do has been part of; check out Whitney and Allen’s dreamy day on the blog for more delicious examples.
The crowd was ready for the fantastic band, The Business, who kept everyone moving all night long. The party got even better with a surprise appearance for the groom by the Tiger himself! The bride and groom’s dog, a belovedWeimaraner aptly named Bowman, also joined the party after their ceremony for the reception festivities, wearing a dapper mint bow tie collar and matching leash. He was so darling, that he was later featured in Southern Bride Magazine! We loved all the photos captured by the fabulous Anna K Photography. She captured the day perfectly, and her photos are a gorgeous reminder of how magical the day was. We loved all the detail photos so much, it was too hard to narrow down—hence the large album of images we chose from Anna K to show this day off!
The bride & groom wrapped up their evening by exiting like movie stars via boat off of the dock there at the Madren Center. Guests joyfully waved glow sticks, and more glow sticks illuminated the pathway to the dock as they slipped away to begin their happily ever after. Thanks Ashley and Wes for letting I Do be part of your tasteful, sophisticated day. GO TIGERS!
