Real Wedding: Beth & James

Posted January 1, 2016

The best kind of client is a referral, because that means someone loved working with us enough to recommend us to their family and friends!  Sweet Southern belle Beth was referred to us by her friend Katie, whose equally gorgeous wedding we had the pleasure of being part of last spring. Beth’s June wedding was just as much fun as Katie’s, and bonus: Katie was a bridesmaid! We loved getting a chance to hear how wonderful her first year of marriage has been, while helping to create memories for Beth & James.

This sweet couple’s wedding had a classic feel with lots of lovely traditional and Southern touches: matching floor length bridesmaids dresses, a traditional church venue, hydrangeas for days, and elegant monogrammed cocktail napkins. Even the color scheme was the picture of simple sophistication in classic navy and white. We usually gush a lot about all the fabulous bridal party gowns we see (and Beth’s choice of navy wrap gowns didn’t disappoint!) but in this wedding, the men mastered the effortless style vibe in their light grey suits paired with navy bowties. We loved this effortless, eye catching color pairing. The most fun, though? Beth’s shoes! Two words: Kate Spade. Peep toe. Sparkly metallic. Bows. (Ok, that’s far more than two words, but KATE SPADE!) To. Die. For.

This sweet couple is obviously loved dearly; they were accompanied at the altar by a huge (23 attendants!) bridal party. After the ceremony, the wedding party boarded an old fashioned trolley to transport them to the reception downtown right on Main Street in Greenville. The cake table was a focal point of the reception, decked with vintage wedding photos of Beth and James’ parents at their weddings. Throughout the night, we overheard many guests commenting on them. It was a great, easy personal touch that made for a big impact. The reception had all the ingredients of a great party: good food, good cake, and a good band, and the crowd had a great time celebrating. After a very fun and full evening, Beth and James made their exit through a tunnel of sparklers into the intoxicating, perfect summer night air of NOMA Square. We are so thrilled to have been referred to be part of this wedding—congratulations Beth and James!
