With Autumn approaching, we can’t help but notice the temps have yet to dip here in the Southeast. It makes it easy to take one last look at summer—by reflecting on our warm weather wedding clients, especially Christi and Nick! Their July 4th downtown Greenville wedding celebrated the holiday (and their marriage) in style! We loved the way that they honored the holiday in subtle but impactful ways, like custom cornhole boards at the reception and a giant American flag background for the photobooth. The bride and groom are originally from New York state, and even though many guests were new to the Greenville area, Christi & Nick made the most of their time with friends and family by planning a fun filled wedding weekend, dubbed “Stars, Stripes & Szkotak” (the groom’s last name), by incorporating Greenville holiday events into their timeline.
Christi and Nick’s day was an upscale rustic affair that involved light grays, fresh aqua (with a splash of patriotic red, white and blue). Christi wore a satin strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline, a beaded belt and fitted mermaid silhouette. Her bouquet included fresh cut peonies, ranunculus and roses in romantic creams and blush. The maid of honor, Christi’s sister, and bridesmaid, Nick’s sister, carried similar bouquets and wore strapless, floor length aqua gowns. The guys donned gray suits and boutonnieres of roses and hypericum berries. Nick subtly showed his patriotism with American Flag socks and suspenders; what a fun way to add a little personality to an otherwise formal outfit!
Once the ceremony was over, the party began immediately. The guests and bridal party got the dancing started as soon as they entered the reception space, and the dance floor didn’t empty the rest of the night! Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner that featured action stations, including a liquid nitrogen ice cream sundae bar—let’s repeat that: No2 ice cream sundae bar!—that was as fun to watch as it was to consume. We love dessert and beautiful cakes, but this was one of the best we’ve seen yet—huge shout out to the cake designer. The flowers and fruit adorning the two tier cake were artfully crafted entirely of sugar, making them not only exquisitely beautiful, but deliciously edible!
Christi & Nick fittingly exited amid a tunnel of sparklers, after which they and their guests walked around the corner to watch the spectacular downtown Greenville, SC fireworks show. It was the perfect end to a fun and family centered day. We are so honored Christi & Nick let us be a part of their thrilling and perfect day!
