We loved being part of Courtney and Brandon’s wedding this past May. It was the perfect kick off to the “summer season” with casual, coastal vibes done in a sophisticated navy, white and pink scheme. One of the most fun touches, in a nod to the summery feeling of their wedding day, was how the couple found clever ways to mix in some adorable bee accents. Their wedding invitations featured tiny buzzing bees and honeycombs. Guests took home individual custom “honeycomb” candles in tiny wooden crates, topped with tiny little wax bees.
The girls all got ready in the classic Westin Poinsett hotel, wearing bright teal floral Plum Pretty Sugar robes gifted to them by Courtney (the bride had a matching floral robe in bridal white!). The bridesmaids changed for the ceremony into floor length navy gowns. One side of the deep-v neckline was embellished with tone on tone navy tulle flowers which kept these dresses feeling formal with a fun side. Their bouquets of bright pink peonies popped against the deep navy. Their photos are a testament to the day: everyone looking stunning (did you get a look at the model-like portraits of the bride? Stunning!)
Well thought out reception decor (like navy and white striped runners, pink watercolor art table numbers, gold votives, and lanterns tied with nautical striped navy ribbons) made the open-air Wyche Pavilion sparkle with fresh summery vibes. We loved how it had us feeling ready to throw on our sunglasses and head to the Hamptons for a chic summer getaway! Navy is such a classic color that can by styled in such a versatile way, regardless of season. We loved seeing it done with pink and nautical summer decor in Courtney and Brandon’s wedding, and styled in completely different ways like yellow & green, white, blush & mixed greenery, foraged multi-toned florals, fall orange, reds & yellows, and gray & white weddings.
Courtney and Brandon wanted to celebrate at their reception by having a huge party. They provided guests with delicious comfort food like mac and cheese, baked beans and sliders. Their wedding cake was extra special: Bakery Off Augusta and Brandon go way back—all the way back to Brandon’s first birthday, to be exact—and Brandon even worked at the bakery for a while when he was younger. The very same baker who baked the groom’s first birthday cake was the very same person that lovingly crafted their wedding cake! The couple decided that Brandon would be in charge of picking the cake, so when them time came to choose, he knew right away who would bake the perfect cake for their wedding. All the yummy food and cake goodness, paired with great DJ and open bar, set under a magical canopy of lights in vibrant downtown Greenville, made for a fantastic party enjoyed by all!
