Imagine your wedding day set in an idyllic outdoor venue — in a field underneath a gorgeous tree with glass vases of blush toned roses and baby’s breath hanging from the branches. Imagine your guests enjoying the weather as it is the end of summer and the temperature is cooling off. STOP! What if it rains the entire afternoon of your wedding?!? Fortunately, Heather and Mike were cool as cucumbers even as the rain pattered down on the white ceremony chairs. The love between this couple truly shined through the dreary weather.
There is a very happy ending to this story — about 30 minutes before the ceremony, the rain stopped. The sun came out and the six precious flower girls (seriously, look at the pictures of these cuties below) walked down the aisle. Our coordinator told them to line up two by two and be a choo choo train. As they marched down the aisle one of them scolded to the other “you are supposed to be the caboose!” HA! Everyone loved watching the flower girls walk in a not so perfect but completely adorable cluster. The couple sweetly said their vows under our favorite tree at View Point at Buckhorn Creek (other weddings we rave about can be viewed here, here and here). In the photos, you can’t even tell it was raining earlier that day.
The guests walked through the wooden gates to enjoy a signature cocktail created by this fun couple. Yum! Good Life Catering served other drinks as the guests nibbled on cheese and ham biscuits. You should have seen the view that their friends and family took in from the cocktail hour location!
Once the pictures of the happy newlyweds were complete, guests gathered around the pavilion to watch them enter and dance for the first time as man and wife. Hot Sauce Band serenaded the couple for their dance as well as the father/daughter and mother/son dances.
Food stations opened up shortly after and guests were welcomed by the smell of freshly grilled chicken skewers and cheeseburgers prepared by DishOut Catering Company. This couple served fries as well with a variety of dipping sauces. Everyone sat under the tents savoring the food and delighting in eachother’s company. Little did they know The Bakery off Augusta had a spearmint colored wedding cake awaiting them (see some of their other sweet treats here)!
Once everyone had eaten to their heart’s content they really kicked the party up a notch! The 5 man band banged out a variety of songs for everyone to enjoy — from Journey to Steve Miller Band to “Blurred Lines.” From this point on, the group danced and danced outside under the setting sun.
After several hours of shaking it, the friends and family lined up and lit sparklers to send off the happy couple. The dark summer sky was illuminated with sparkles as Heather and Mike escaped to the perfect ending to their fairytale! Fortunately, Hannah Woodard Photography and her team caught all the special moments from Heather & Mike’s big day. Check out their work below!
