May and June are often stunning months for outdoor weddings, but the promise of a picture perfect sun shining day comes at a risk- those months are known to carry a pesky little threat of spring showers. Thankfully, as the rain started falling softly at Kate and Zach’s early June outdoor wedding, Katie from our team had the pleasure of working with one of the sweetest, most laid back couples that couldn’t have been more thrilled to be tying the knot, rain or shine. We loved Kate and Zach’s upbeat and relaxed attitudes; they definitely didn’t let the rain stop them from having a beautiful, charming wedding day. Their ceremony and reception took place at the secluded, familiar-to-the-couple Chattooga River Resort, which is an indoor campground with indoor & outdoor space, that is usable for a reception. The venue’s unique stone floors and wooden, flower draped trellis covering were a subtle and harmonious compliment to the outdoorsy theme the couple wanted for the wedding. Kelly at Earth Blooms also did an outstandingly incredible job accenting the natural beauty of their venue with special touches such as perfectly placed drapery, soft white twinkle lights, and of course all the beautiful flowers!
After the outdoor ceremony underneath the tent (thankfully readied for potential summer storms), guests moved to the reception area for cocktail hour and dinner provided by nearby Valley Cafe and Catering. The quick moving rain did not keep their guests from enjoying themselves, either, as they celebrated Kate and Zach underneath the covered areas outside, as well as inside the rustic resort space, and as soon as it moved on, they were back outside again in full! Rain doesn’t stop the party when I Do is involved- read more about another rainy day wedding that couldn’t be dampened here. Once the delicious cupcakes were served (instead of a traditional cake- loved this unique choice!) and the party really got started, the guests flooded the dance floor. Later that evening, guests gathered to enjoy their sweetly hand wrapped, tagged s’more favors by roasting them around the fire pit. Favors guests will use are always a nice touch, but favors guests can enjoy during the festivities as a way to connect and continue celebrating is always a surefire winner. The newlyweds enjoyed the party so much, they didn’t make the traditional “grand exit”- they stayed and roasted s’mores right along with their guests! Along with SposaBella Photography who sweetly shared these images with us, we all so enjoyed this relaxed, fun, happy wedding. Kate and Zach, best wishes and thank you for sharing your wonderful day with I Do!
