Real Wedding: Katherine & Brad

There are moments in a woman’s life when she is utterly and ecstatically overjoyed, one of which is undoubtedly her wedding day. I absolutely loved being a part of this wedding, and you can too by looking through the photos graciously provided by Mykal McEldowney. Mykal caught moment after moment of this bride’s smiling that unmistakably giddy smile when a woman marries her perfect match—this couple’s happiness lit up the room on that rainy May day. I had the pleasure of aiding in the planning process of this event, from the get-go. I knew when the bride said pale pink, gray, chartreuse, and SPARKLE that we were going to be besties by the end of this; she certainly has an eye for style! Just check out the jaw-dropping, blinged out, drool worthy shoes she chose. SIGH.

There were several showstopping vendors working it, let me tell you. Lindsey Plantation hosted the ceremony and reception. This venue proves to be stunning standing alone, there is no denying that. Todd Jones with Botanica Event Design came out and decorated the plantation to perfection! He took things to a whole new level, incorporating the bride’s luxe preferences with the groom’s more rustic inclinations; just look at how he enhanced the natural beauty of the ceremony site and reception in the barn. Of course, while all was being set up at LP, the couple and their bridal party prepared for the day at one of Greenville’s iconic landmarks, the Westin Poinsett Hotel. Despite the fact that the clouds were darkening, Katherine and Brad were over-the-moon excited about exchanging nuptials. Not even the rain would stop this bride and groom and their guests from enjoying each second of this wedding day. The drops started to fall and umbrellas were distributed. In our opinion, this made their wedding day even more special, especially with all the infectious glee going around. Mykal even caught Katherine with her leg popped as right after she married her Mr. Wonderful.

Reeves Catering blew everyone’s taste buds (as they usually do) serving a palatable variety that each guest savored. They strive to really embody the client’s tastes—and since the groom is particularly fond of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, they transformed this into a passed appetizer of baguette with peanut butter mousse, topped with fruit preserves and a grape to cap it off. The food selections included delectable panini choices (5 different kinds, including a 3 cheese grilled cheese that was mouthwatering), and what is easily my favorite shrimp & grits recipe, complete with a lobster cream grits incorporated with the pan-seared shrimp and bits of bacon. Cannot say “mmmm” loud enough, people!

Holly’s Cakes baked up an elegant creation, complete with a showstopping sugar peony focal point, fondant icing in a diamond quilted pattern, and a little silver *BLING*. We love the bejeweled blingtastic vases with “K” and “B” initials next to the cake, that the mother of the bride so lovingly crafted. Liquid Catering came out to serve the libations and coupled with Split Second Sound, they got the party going! You can’t imagine the festivity that was had by all—people were singing, dancing and laughing the night away! Katherine changed into a sassy white cocktail length gown, with the top half completely embellished with pearls (more of that glam!) with her blue high heels to continue the party. Finally, after quite a celebration, she and Brad headed off into wedded bliss, smiling and laughing in love all the way!
