It’s hard to say which was more lovely and fresh- the bright, sunny June day or Katie and Dylan’s happy, crisp wedding color scheme. Brittany R. had the pleasure of assisting this couple as they tied the knot with a large wedding party of supportive family and friends looking on. The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the chic downtown Certus Loft. Curly Willow Designs set the scene for the couple’s “rustic” theme with soaring branches on either side of the altar. From the aged wood boxes holding the palette-perfect programs, to hanging lanterns that dripped with earthly bunches of greenery, creamy yellow florals and tiny, twinkling candles, every decor aspect was considered. The bridal party carried bouquets of summery yellow and peach tones. We loved the combination of the yellows in the flowers against the coordinating teal bridesmaids dresses. This is not a color scheme you see every day- and it couldn’t have been more PERFECT for this fun couple and the beautiful summer day. Another unique touch seen was that the bride chose to use different linens on the reception tables- instead of a uniform color, burlaps and greys were mixed together to create a textured & varied, yet cohesive look. For another wedding we loved that had a unique and fun color palette, check out Shana & Reggie– they used teal and lime green!

The bride looked stunning in her fitted mermaid style gown with flouncy tiered ruffles on the bottom. Studio 7 provided hair and makeup for the bridal party, enhancing the already lovely ladies to wedding-day-level perfection. The bridesmaids each chose their own style of knee length teal attire- we adore how the shades of teal were coordinating, not matching, and the styles flattered each individual without taking attention away from the knockout bride. We also loved the morning grey suits on the groom and his groomsman- perfect for a summer wedding. Special points go to Dad- he “matched” the groomsmen by also wearing a grey suit, but stood apart from the group in his place of honor when he chose a slightly darker shade!

The Good Life Catering provided a delicious meal, complete with a gorgeous cheese and fruit spread during the cocktail hour. For dessert, the couple chose cupcakes instead of the traditional tiered wedding cake. Gretchen’s ABS Cakes supplied several flavors arranged on a tall, multi-layered stand to resemble the look of a towering wedding cake, complete with a tiny “topper” layer for the bride and groom to save for the first anniversary.

The Party Machine had the whole crowd on their feet dancing. Katie and Dylan’s wedding just might go in the record books for one of the most awesome Congo lines of all time- It wrapped around the inside of the venue three times! One of the most lovely photographers around,  A Darling Day, captured the happy occasion on camera from start to finish, including the couple’s exit amid a tunnel of sparklers! We especially love the dramatic swept away kiss moment the couple treated the crowd to (seen in our featured image). Thank you Katie and Dylan for letting us share in your special day!
