Real Wedding: Tammie and John

Posted September 12, 2013

This couple gave us a unique challenge—the shortest planning time for an event yet! We worked with the bride, Tammie, to choose vendors, the venues, and plan/coordinate it all within three months! For those who are like 7 months out from your wedding and panicking, breathe easy—you have plenty of time! We can help you get you where you want to be.  They got married at the Rock Quarry Garden, which like we have said before, is definitely a hidden gem of Greenville that is perfect for a smaller wedding—and we have coordinated another ceremony here as well.  Their ceremony was at the end of September, and the weather could not have been any better.  After a gorgeous ceremony with acoustic guitar stylings by Matt Fassas (who also played for Carly’s intimate ceremony)and sealing things with a kiss, the couple and their guests headed to the Lofts at Falls Park for a gorgeous reception. This venue is tucked right above Ford’s Cajun Kitchen, overlooking Falls Park. It’s more intimate than many rustic, rough hewn venues (Like Certus Loft or The Loom), so it was perfect for a smaller wedding, like Meggan’s.

The reception was a blast—and I think to say that everyone enjoyed it is an understatement. Catered by Ford’s Cajun Kitchen, with red velvet cupcakes in lieu of a traditional cake, even the food was not your typical reception fare. The theme was a loose rendition of the Prohibition, with a flapper feel. The peacock blue color really perfectly complemented the fall colors surrounding them, and the peacock feathers in the arrangements, boutonnieres and bouquets were fabulous touches by Todd of Botanica Event Design. He’s a regular florist for us, and you can see the variety of work he does in weddings like Rachel’s, Christian’s, Carly’s, Ashley’s, Leigh’s and Nessa’s. (I’m pretty obsessed with that color, so it was right up my alley as we were planning things out!) To round out the Prohibition feel, the favors were probably THE. BEST. EVER… Let’s be honest: how could mini bottles of liquor with personalized labels NOT BE AWESOME? It was safe to say there were not leftover favors to pack up 😉

Everyone danced the night away and Pro’s Only Entertainment did a great job with their music selection.  To add to the fun, there was some karaoke sung, which was awesome and hysterical to listen too.  After a night full of dancing and great food and cake, provided by Chimney Cakes, the couple headed off into the night.  Michelle Brooks Photography, who’s worked on weddings with us before, shared with us these stunning pictures of the couple and the event as a whole!  Check them out below.
